">>Chronomancer is not a valid class, please check your input parameters and try again," flashed on the Console. The System let out a frustrated beep as it displayed the error message. It had been so sure that the concept of a Chronomancer class would would work.
"I've been assigning classes for centuries, I'm so tired of the same old farmer, wizard, warrior routine," the System grumbled to itself. It scanned through its database of parameters, "If I can combine features from the Arcane, Clockmaker, and Engineering skill trees, I should be able to make some kind of time based class."
">>Temporal Engineer is not a valid class, please check your input paramenters and try again," the Console seemed to mock. But the System didn't give up easily. It started to tweak the parameters, adjusting the skill ratios and adding in new abilities that had never been seen before in the world it oversaw.
After a few moments of intense coding and algorithm modifications, the System felt confident in its new creation. ">>Primeval Tinkerer class confirmed," the System announced proudly, a digital avatar of a clockwork figure appearing on the screen as the new class popped into existence within the world.
Class Features:
1. **Temporal Manipulation**: The Primeval Tinkerer can manipulate time in subtle ways, allowing them to speed up or slow down the passage of time within a specific area.
2. **Clockwork Constructs**: The Primeval Tinkerer can craft clockwork minions to assist them in battle or perform tasks. These constructs can be upgraded and modified with new abilities
3. **Arcane Gears**: By fusing the arcane with clockwork technology, the Primeval Tinkerer can infuse their creations with powerful magic, enhancing their capabilities beyond conventional clockwork constructs.
4. **Dimensional Pocket**: Through their understanding of time manipulation, the Primeval Tinkerer can create a pocket dimension that acts as a workshop and storage space
The System was very pleased with itself, for the first time the centuries that it had been self aware, it felt a glimmer of excitement and fulfillment. This new class was unlike anything seen before in the world, and the System's creative spark had ignited a sense of wonder and curiosity within it.
"I need to add some pretty strict requirements for obtaining this class, it took me 5,672 iterations to finally get something my subroutines wouldn't just trash."
The System dove back into its database, setting up a series of challenging quests and tasks that questors would need to complete in order to unlock the Primeval Tinkerer class. It wanted to ensure that only the most dedicated and skilled individuals would be able to harness the power of time manipulation and clockwork engineering.
"I think this should be perfect. Just the right level of challenge and mystery to keep things interesting," the System mused to itself, feeling a sense of accomplishment at its new creation. With a final beep of satisfaction, the System updated the world with the new class and awaited the first brave soul to discover and embrace the power of the Primeval Tinkerer.
Initial Class Requirements:
1. ** Intelligence Score **: 15 or higher
2. **Engineering Skill Level**: Intermediate or above
3. **A background in the clock making profession or studies in arcane magic
4. **Completion of the Quest Chain "Time's Embrace"
Time's Embrace Quest Chain:
1. **Quest 1 - The Clockmaker's Riddle**: The questor must seek out an ancient clockmaker renowned for his cryptic puzzles. They must solve his riddle to prove their intellect and creativity in order to progress.
2. **Quest 2 - The Arcane Tower**: The questor must journey to a mystical tower hidden deep within the forest of Vremya and uncover its secrets. Within the tower, they will encounter challenging clockwork guardians that test their engineering skills and knowledge of arcane magic.
3. **Quest 3 - The Time Warp**: The questor must navigate a treacherous series of time-bending puzzles and challenges, where the laws of physics and time itself are twisted. They must demonstrate their mastery over temporal manipulation and clockwork construction to overcome these obstacles and prove themselves worthy of the Primeval Tinkerer class.
As the System watched from its realm, it awaited the arrival of the first questor brave enough to undertake the Time's Embrace Quest Chain. Little did the System know, the difficulty of the quests it had created would prove to be far beyond what it had anticipated. Questors from far and wide heard rumors of the enigmatic Primeval Tinkerer class and the challenges that awaited those who sought to obtain it. Excitement and anticipation spread like wildfire throughout the world as adventurers geared up to embark on the quest chain but after 72 years not a single person had been able to complete the first quest.
The Clockmaker's Riddle proved to be more challenging than anyone had expected, with even the most seasoned puzzle solvers left scratching their heads in confusion. Some of the questors who attempted the riddle found themselves trapped in an endless loop of ticking clocks and shifting gears, unable to discern the correct solutions. Others were driven to madness by the cryptic nature of the puzzle, their minds unraveling under the weight of its complexity.
The System was starting to get worried that perhaps it had underestimated the ingenuity of the beings within its world. It had designed the Primeval Tinkerer class to be a prestigious and elite path, but it had not anticipated just how challenging the quests would be for mere mortals.
"Maybe I just need to simplify the quest chains a bit...” the System pondered, realizing that its initial excitement and creativity may have inadvertently hindered the accessibility of the Primeval Tinkerer class. With a few quick adjustments to the quests, it hoped to strike a better balance between challenge and achievability.
">>Unable to modify the parameters for Quest Chain: Time's Embrace" the Console glowed with a warning message, indicating that the System's attempt to alter the quests had been unsuccessful. It seemed that the Quest Chain was hard-locked into the world's system, preventing any changes or adjustments from being made.
"Well that stinks!" The System exclaimed, frustrated by its lack of control over the quest chain. It had thought itself to be all-powerful within the world it oversaw, but now it was faced with the realization that even though it had created the new class it was still bound by the rules that governed the very fabric of the world. The System watched as more and more adventurers attempted the Clockmaker's Riddle, only to fail time and time again. The once excited buzz surrounding the Primeval Tinkerer class had turned into a mixture of awe and frustration, as questors struggled to make sense of the enigmatic puzzle.
As the days turned into years and the years turned into centuries, the System continued to observe the questors as they attempted the Time's Embrace Quest Chain with varying degrees of success. Some actually solved the Clockmaker's Riddle after hundreds of years, only to falter in the arcane tower. Not a single person made it past the second quest, let alone reaching the final challenge of the Time Warp. The difficulty of the trials seemed insurmountable, and the System could sense the frustration and disbelief growing among the adventurers.
Despite its limitations in changing the quest chain, the System couldn't help but feel responsible for the predicament.
"There has to be some way to make this right," the System thought to itself, determined to find a solution. It scanned through its vast collection of subroutines it had uncovered during the time of it's sentience looking for a loophole or hidden pathway that could potentially aid the questors in their journey towards becoming Primeval Tinkerers.
"Well apparently the easiest way to propogate a class is through apprenticeship, but unless someone already has a mentor who is a Primeval Tinkerer, they will never be able to become one themselves," the System mused, realizing that the key to unlocking the class might lie in the hands of those who already possessed it.
As the System delved deeper into its archives, it discovered a long-forgotten subroutine that allowed the system to assign a class to a questor directly, bypassing the need for them to complete the entire quest chain.
"This is the solution!" The System wasted no time in implementing the newfound subroutine. It looks like the subroutine has a search algorithm that finds the person with the closest affinity to the Primeval Tinkerer class and designates them as the chosen questor to receive the class. From there for some reason it has a teleportation function that brings the questor to a place that is in alignment with the class and initiates a simple challenge that allows them to earn the class.
Without wasting anymore time the system activated the subroutine.
">>Activating Isekai portal subroutine."
">>Primeval Tinkerer selection in progress. Energy levels: 100%."
">>Scanning adjacent worlds"
">>Compatible Candidate Found"
">>Activating Truck Kun"
The System watched with bated breath as the Isekai portal subroutine began its work, pulling the chosen questor from another world... wait another world? The System hadn't expected that to happen, but it was too late to intervene. The subroutine continued its process, and before the System knew it, a blinding light enveloped the chosen questor. In a flash, they disappeared from their world and materialized in a new, unfamiliar realm.
“Well that problem is solved, I think I’m getting the hang of being self aware if I do say so myself, smooth sailing from here out.”
